Worth every penny to me. :)
Thoroughly impressed with this device. I read through all of the reviews before buying, including negative, and can say my experience has been completely positive. I love the backlighting, though I wish it projected further down behind my monitor. The front lighting is great and can easily be positioned to light up my desktop, but minimal glare on the screen itself. The puck is brilliant. It's easy and intuitive to dial in brightness, color temperature and front/back lighting. I haven't experienced any of the touch issues on the controller that others have. It takes just a like tap to select a setting and it's easy to save a favorite setting via the <3 button via a long press. I've had no issue with it waking up when I sit down at my desk. Perhaps it's been more of a positioning issue for others? Mine lives just above my trackpad and I've yet to have it not turn on the light when I sit down at my workstation. It does fit nicely on my 27" Apple Studio Display. I like the clamp design because it sits up there lightly, balances well, but doesn't exert much force on the screen. The build quality appears to be excellent. The light housing and puck are made from aluminum. The puck is nicely weighted and it rotates very smoothly. Despite the cost, I feel this was a very worthwhile upgrade to my studio. Update 11/8/25: I mistakenly thought the sensor to turn the light on was in the puck. However, that wouldn’t have made sense. The sensor is in the arm underneath the light bar, facing the user. That said, it continues to work flawlessly and I’m still very pleased. My favorite feature has become the “favorite” button (go figure). I can adjust the lighting to whatever I’d like at the time, but can immediately revert to my preferred setting for editing photos.

Perfect desk lamp for busy desks.
This is the perfect desk lamp for those of us whose desks are too full of stuff to support a free-standing lamp. I have it clipped to a 27" Apple monitor, and it works perfectly. No noticeable impact on the screen, very good quality light, and it lights up my desk. It's very high quality, particularly the remote. I didn't think the backlight would be useful, but I actually like it. My one quibble is that it has only a single preset. I'd vastly prefer two—one for daytime settings and the other for (much yellower and dimmer) nighttime. The automatic adjustment dims the light a bit too much for my tastes. It's expensive, but worth every penny.

Great light bar
A very good light bar. Easy to install and it fits securely to the lop of my monitor. Solid build and design. Great light coverage and it is very functional. It is expensive, but it is worth the price.

Expensive but Worth It
Great concept and execution, perfect lighting solution. I have it mounted on a BenQ MA320 for general use and photo editing. Eliminates glare, no screen obstruction, and frees up space on the desktop. Front & backlight independent brightness control is helpful and the included webcam mount pedestal is a nice touch. Quick & easy to install/setup. Fancy remote control puck works great but is probably overkill unless you are constantly adjusting, could have put simple buttons on unit itself to set & forget.

Premium build/aesthetics, excellent function, best option out there ATM.
THE GOOD: Overall this is the best option out there right now for 2 sided light - well worth the $$. Mine sits on a 27" iMac and it matches overall aesthetic well and looks/feels premium. Front light is sufficient (I do both digital and hard copy paperwork at my home office) to light up everything on my desk. The fact that light doesn't reflect/glare off my screen is excellent. THE "MEHH": 1) could be 3-4" wider, especially if working on larger projects and have books/paperwork to the side of the monitor or keyboard... that said it's probably enough for most people. 2) Remote is a bit annoying because it's too easy to turn and skip the setting you're trying to adjust, there's literally 0 friction when turning the wheel. 3) lack of any sort of app control is somewhat annoying considering that it has wireless connectivity especially since remote programming (which is minimal as is) isn't that intuitive. 4) My main gripe and reason for 4 stars instead of 5... no independent color temp setting for front/rear light - both have to be set to simultaneously to the same temp - this is unfortunate because it doesn't accommodate the color/texture of the wall behind the monitor... clearly there's independent control of the luminosity between front and back LED's, so there's no technical limitation on why you shouldn't be able to set the color temp individually. Regardless - I recommend this light for any home office.

Best monitor light bar money can buy
Edit: After using it for a few days, I noticed some smudges on the controller screen. If you’re like me and tend to have sweaty hands, just be aware that it can leave marks. I was very hesitant to buy this at first, but after a few years I finally went for the BenQ Halo light bar and I don’t regret it one bit. Everything about this light bar is excellent: the build quality, brightness, features, and how easy it is to install. The only downside is that the wireless controller doesn’t come with a USB-C cable for charging. It’s a small thing, but at this price point it really should have been included. I have a 34 inch 800R curved monitor and the light bar fits perfectly. Unlike some others, it doesn’t press hard against the screen. It just lightly rests on it. I also really like that it comes with a webcam accessory. Installation is super simple. Just peel off the adhesive backing and attach it to the top of the light bar. The wireless controller is easy to use and stays firmly in place while adjusting settings, which is a nice touch. I highly recommend upgrading to this light bar.

I remember I saw this light online and watched a lot of reviews on YT. My opinion is , this was built with very good materials making it more premium quality ,the setup is super easy and the most important this for me is the functionality, the different lights tones are very convenient and useful. I could say I’m very ver satisfied with this lamp.

The BenQ ScreenBar Halo 2 is an excellent monitor light that delivers exactly what it promises. It provides great illumination without shining in my eyes, which makes long sessions at the desk far more comfortable. The controls are fantastic and intuitive to use, and the overall experience is very satisfying. I have no qualms at all and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality monitor light.

Ok, I had to ask myself, why is this light bar so expensive compared to the other light bars available on Amazon. I couldn't justify the price, so I bought a ~$80 light bar, and I felt that was the right move. When the more affordable light bar arrived, I set it up, but was largely disappointed. It had some nice features and it was fine. But it was difficult to adjust, either too much glare on the screen or too much glare in my eyes. The temperature adjustments were a bit crude, too yellow to too white. The brightness was not low enough or too bright. Build quality wasn't something that concerned me at the time because it was my first light bar and I had no benchmark. After a day or two of struggling with the cheaper light bar, I decided to return it and get the BenQ ScreenBar. And when I say the quality and features of this light are night and day from the $80 model, I'm underselling it. They don't even compare, approach/away light features, precise colour temperature, a wide range of brightness, and the light angle is precision when it comes to adjustment. Big bonus, easy to add a webcam on top and even comes with a mounting bracket for the camera (but I didn't need it). Major consideration, the remote is boss and rechargeable! All usb-c powered and it was worth every dollar. This is THE light bar, also works incredibly well on curved monitors, just need to spend some time centring it properly on the display. If you have the cheese, spend it here.
