As a mom with four daughters ranging from 4 to 19, finding a game that captivates everyone without overwhelming the little ones is rare. I bought Astro Bot for PS5 as a family gaming pick, and it's a great game for the family—for all ages—delivering pure, joyful fun that had us all laughing and cheering together. Gameplay and Appeal: This 3D platformer stars the adorable Astro Bot in a vibrant universe full of creative levels, gadget-filled challenges, and nods to PlayStation history that thrill my older girls while keeping things simple for my 4-year-old. The controls are intuitive with the DualSense controller's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers making actions like punching or gliding feel immersive and magical. Co-op mode lets us team up for boss fights, turning solo play into family bonding sessions. Visuals and Content: The colorful worlds and charming robot designs are eye-candy for kids, with no violence—just whimsical exploration and collectibles that encourage replayability. My youngest loves the cute bots to rescue, while the teens appreciate the skillful platforming and hidden secrets. At about 10-15 hours for the main story, it's perfect for short bursts or weekend marathons, suitable for ages 4+ with easy difficulty options. Family Experience: We played on our PS5, and the smooth 60fps performance kept everyone engaged without frustration. It's wholesome, positive, and sparks creativity, making it ideal for mixed-age households like mine. Pros: Joyful, accessible platforming for all skill levels. Family-friendly with co-op and no scary elements. Stunning PS5 visuals and controller integration. Short, replayable levels fit busy schedules. Final Thoughts: Astro Bot is a great game for the family—for all ages—that brings smiles and teamwork to our playtime. I love how it unites my daughters in adventure, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone seeking wholesome PS5 fun.

Fun game reminiscence of mario odyssey style type. A bit easy to beat but plenty, more difficult, side quests to accomplish for the purists. Also great for any long time playstation fan. So many references/easter eggs.

Loved the game from start to finish. Beautiful looking worlds, Fun as HECK! Gameplay with lots of different power ups between worlds. I recommend trying to get all the Puzzles & Bots from each Galaxy. Makes the game a bit longer & funner because it's relatively easy. If you want to get extra bots, chase & run into passing asteroids & those mini levels are HARD AF! They will give you the challenge you're looking for. This game has everything! Some worlds have a secret passage to hidden worlds called the Lost Galaxy. Each Galaxy has about two in two of their planets. Some worlds you would have to do over again to get the missing puzzles and bots that you missed and if you're willing to pay 200 coins and once you restart a level, The little bot bird will help you find the remaining puzzles & bots you missed. The last Boss switches things up BIG TIME from the platforming formula & makes you use all power ups to beat him & turns into a spaceship battle before facing him. This is the Mascot platforming game that PlayStation has needed since Crash Bandicoot. Since Xbox practically owns Crash now, Sony has finally got their mascot with a Mario 64 esq worthy Game in their main catalog now. This game is imaginative, creative, beautiful, fun, challenging when it wants to be, & nostalgic for anybody who has been following PlayStation all the way back from the first console. So many references to other games with bots that look like them and even even a few worlds based on them such as horizon zero Dawn, God of war and uncharted. Making you even use their signature weapons on that level. I can't praise this game enough. It's perfect. Only bad thing I can say that it was not long enough. 20 plus hours & I'm done. I damn near 100 percented the game. I got all the puzzles & only about 20 bots shy of getting all 300. I beat it over the weekend & now I'm just sad that it's now over 😢. Luckily I can always go back and get the remaining bots 😁
