Superb in every way, piece recognition means no more pressing the pieces on the board. Set up of special positions is so simple. The built in Chess engine makes quick play for all levels of ability. Learners have many aids to help suggest moves, legal moves, and take back, while club players can choose a stronger 'bot' to Challenge. Online opponents are easily accessed, whilst the built in rechargeable battery's will store your games until reactivated. Piece recognition was once only for those with very deep pockets, now its available for everyone! Ideal for private or family use together.

I love chess. I'm good at chess. I can't find people around me that like chess and offer a meaningful challenge. Enter Chessup 2. I can't connect it seamlessly to my Chess.com account and play bots, practice, and play whenever I want. Even without the Chess.com interpretation, the board has built in AI opponents that challenge me and make the experience fun and engaging. It's large enough to be comfortable to play in, but compact enough that it fits in my laptop backpack and I can take it places if I want. It's not designed for travel, but for camping of vacation, I imagine it would travel well enough. It feels solid, but is light weight. The pieces have some decent weight, but are not as heavy as other premium pieces. A small compromise, and in my opinion, worth it. They have a nice clank and do not sound or feel cheap. The integration of the LEDs in the board and the individual settings for two player, means my daughter can get hints while I get only legal moves, showing her how to best place pieces and she's learning to strategize. Myself, as a more experienced player, find the CPU challenging enough to be engaging and fun. I have also improved using this board. By This is the best "toy" I've purchased in a while. I find it to be well built and it works as advertised, with setup only taking a couple minutes. Now, it's turn it on and it connects. I have been playing other people o er the board too and I'm never without an engaging opponent. Worth it, if you enjoy chess, no questions about it.
