This is a good way to buy gelatine if you use it regularly rather than use leaves or buy it in little packets. Far more economical to buy a quantity such as this.

Pure beef gelatin
Good quality fine gelatin from cows. NB this is obviously NOT vegan! I've no idea why they marked it as such above! It comes from cows. Works well, much firmer and more easy to dissolve than the Dr Oetker stuff you can get from your local supermarket.

Pure, powdered, tasteless gelatin
I actually ordered this to take as a supplement to ease arthritic pain in my hips. I had been taking other supplements for years but read of the possible benefits of gelatin in a book by a German, Doctor Ulrich Strunz. After trying it out using small packets and experiencing an immediate improvement, I ordered this large pot of powdered gelatin. Now, I just sprinkle two teaspoonfuls over my defrosted fruit in the evening. It is quite tasteless, so does not detract from the enjoyment of what I am eating. I am enjoying relief from pain and greater mobility. Cartilage is made of gelatin, after all, and that is what wears thin as you grow older. I'm sure this gelatin is also excellent for use in the kitchen but I have not used it in that way so cannot comment.
