Very surprised!
I got the 12’ MH and I am very pleasantly surprised by this rod! First, it isn’t a MH I would say closer to a Medium power. Rod is super light, pretty thin and moderate action tip. Just landed a 30-40lb sting ray (not what I was fishing for) and it did a nice job for me. I am comparing this to my $400 St Croix’s and for s $100 this is super nice!! Fantastic pompano rod, sends 3oz sailing a long long way!

Weight rocket
Used it for the first time last weekend on the northern California coast, it was awesome I was able to launch 3oz weight twice as far as my older 9ft surf rods!

Bad shipping
Product is good but the shipping is really bad they put in plastic bag and the fishing pole is broken

Great value for the price.
This rod the 1202mh is the lightest rod I've seen in this category. It only weighs a few ounces but can easily cast a 4 ounce sinker plus bait. The largest fish I've caught was a sting ray about 33 inches across. This purchase is my second 1202mh. It remains to be seen if it will handle a bull redfish, maybe this year. I love that a small whiting will bounce the rod tip, unlike my Big Water Ugly Stik which is too heavy for a 6" whiting to be noticed.

Delay in shipping
Arrived 2 days later, from initial scheduled Amazon delivery date. Rod arrived undamaged. 2 pieces inside a cardboard box, which was better than my PENN rods that came covered by a plastic bag....Tip of rod is very thin, hopefully it will last. I like the thin lower grip, not fat and bulky, so should provide ease of grip for the long casts on the surf.

Very nice rod RA-S-1202MH Rockaway Surf
This is a very light weight surf rod. I paired this with a Daiwa BG 4000. I might change to a bigger reel at some point. I bought this for surf fishing so I can cast farther. No fish yet on surf but was able to catch a 30+ inch shark in Ventura Pier.

I have bought two rockaway already one is 10’ and the last one 12ft very high quality ! Durability is 10/10 perfect fishing for surf fishing and strippers can’t go wrong with this rods !
