Muy bonita navaja. Excelente calidad de materiales y acabados. Al principio la sentí un poco ligera para su tamaño, pero es cosa de acostumbrarse. El filo que trae de fábrica está excelente. Lista para usarse saliendo de la caja.

I've been on a tear lately with budget knives. It started with a Civivi Badlands ($40), then a QSP Penguin ($32), an ST103 and 110 ($28 each) from Sitivien, and finally this one, the Petrified Fish Beluga ($52) in blue micarta. Each one is a solid value for the price and each has their pros and cons. The Sitiviens both needed some work to fix loose scales and backspacers, and I had to sand down the liner lock on one to get it to fully engage. I didn't mind though because both were under $30 and I was planning to customize them anyway. The Civivi was great out of the box and an excellent EDC until the Penguin came along. Fantastic little knife all around. So what about the Beluga? Well, it blew me away. This is a $50 knife that handles like one worth $100 or more. I like it when I get a good knife in cheap packaging (not a slam, I promise) because I know the manufacturers put their money into the product. Case in point, I'd rather have better QC from Sitivien than the nice black boxes their knives came in. PF included replacement screws, bronze washers, and a really nice polishing cloth. Who cares if the box is pretty basic cardstock? What I care about is a good knife for the price, and that is exactly what I got. For starters, it's solid as a rock but smooth as silk. The K110 (It's D2) blade was perfectly evenly ground from tip to base on both side. No flat spots, no need to reprofile, and the narrow edge bevel perfectly compliments the deep plunge on the full flat grind. It was shaving sharp out of the box, but after a few passes on a strop, it glides through hair, paper, and anything else in front of it. Very slicey for it's size, but with enough metal behind the edge to keep it from deforming. When closed, the blade is perfectly centered The opening and closing action is surprisingly smooth thanks to the ball bearings in the pivot. If you're planning to use it hard, you can swap the bearings out for a pair of phosphor-bronze washers that come with it. Very thoughtful! Make no mistake, this is a big knife, but the micarta scales are so well rounded that it feela as comfortable in the pocket as it does in your hand. For comparison, a Kershaw 1776 Link has a much chunkier handle. Even though both knives are about the same thickness, the Beluga carries more easily with it's broader, smoother scales. The micarta is plenty grippy and a beautiful blue. I love that the backspacer is made from the same material. The steel liners are skeletonized to reduce weight. There are some very minor flaws with the scales not being completely flush with the steel liners. They stick out from the edges in a few places by a fraction of a millimeter, just enough to notice, and there is a paper thin gap betweem the metal and micarta on two of the bottom corners. The former can be fixed with a little sandpaper, not sure about the latter. Neither is a deal breaker for me, though it is odd that my Penguin is $20 less and the denim micarta scales on it are perfectly matched to the liners. I don't expect custom-level quality on a $50 knife and if anything, the little bit of overhang improves the grip. I am considering sanding down the edges on the liners just a bit and may see if sanding the scales fixes the gap. Tl; dr Great knife, great value, highly recommend.

Bin 64 und hatte ca. 30 Jahre lang ein 70DM Hubertus-Klapmesser auf dem Arbeitstisch. Briefe, Brot, Wurst, Apfel bis zum Bleistiftspitzen. Auch im Urlaub hatte ich dieses Messer mit bis es im Feb. in Diebeshände gewechselt hat. Nun habe ich seit einem Monat dieses Petrified Beluga schwarz sandblasting Klinge auf dem Tisch und staune über den praktischen Wert, Qualität und Preis-Leistung Verhältnis. Dieses Messer verdient glatt 5 Sterne. Es ist händlich, für Schneiderbrettschneiden geeignet, nachhaltig scharf (durchgehend keilförmige Klinge d.h. kein Formsprung) und super leicht zum öffnen/schliessen. Null-komma-Josef Spiel im geöffneten und geschlossen Zustand - kannst rütteln was das Zeug hält. Das Taschenclip lässt sich auf die andere Seite versetzen oder entfernen. Generell tue ich bei alln meinen verschraubten Messern/Cuttern alle Schrauben mit Schraubensicherungsfluid sichern - auch bei diesem Messer. Alle Schraubchen waren solide fest aber mit richtigem Werkzeug leicht zu entfernen, mit Fluid zu benetzen und passten wieder einwandfrei ins Loch. Die Qualität ist rundum 1A und nicht mehr zu topen. Ich bin ein Werkzeugnarr (Gedore, Knipex, Wera, Fein, Festool usw.) und weiß, wass ich schreibe. Sonst ist dieses Messer für einen artgerechten Gebrauch bestimmt - kein Werfen, Schraubendrehen oder auf dem Teller/Glasplatte schneiden. Auch kein Spielen und Weg von Kindern und Unverantwortlichen. Kaufe gleich ein zweites und lasse in der Schublade liegen, falls wieder ein Langfinger zuschlagen sollte...

Mi segundo cuchillo PF de Amazon. Vino en una caja más elegante de lo habitual con arandelas de bronce extra gruesas que pueden ser útiles si va a utilizar el cuchillo en un ambiente sucio que normalmente ensuciar arandelas rodamientos de bolas. Ahora, el cuchillo. Bueno, es grande, pero se adapta a la mano muy bueno y es pura alegría para abrir / cerrar, incluso si no soy fanático de los cuchillos con volteo frontal, y que la línea delgada para el finger-flick no parece muy cómodo, revela que es muy fácil de usar. Las placas de mikarta se ven increibles en azul y si no se ensucia con productos quimicos mantendra su aspecto durante años. También creo que al sacarla de la caja estaba ligeramente cubierta de aceite mineral (o algo similar) ya que es un poco más brillante y no absorbe los líquidos fácilmente como la mikarta cruda. La cuchilla, aparte de ser grande y gruesa, es un gran cortador, ya que está afilada, e incluso después de usarla en el jardín durante unos días para cortar ramas de árboles más pequeños, mantiene un filo perfecto. Después de todo K110 es más o menos D2 que incluso siendo más barato de acero, es ideal para el uso típico, como se puede golpear todo el día, volver a afilar con facilidad y no se preocupe si usted lo destruye. Solo mantenlo limpio ya que el K110 como el D2 a veces puede tener corrosión superficial si lo mantienes mojado por mucho tiempo. En general, gran cuchillo, no es lo mejor para EDC como su tad grande para él, pero para acampar, jardín, viaje al aire libre, perfecto.

Świetny nóż już drugi od petrified fish , posiadam także "PUB" ale "BELUGA" ze swoim front flipem robi wrażenie. Ładny nóż łatwy w obsłudze a jakość wykonania 10 na 10. Dużo kolorów do wyboru i ciężko sie zdecydować więc wybrałem czarny bo czarny pasuje do wszystkiego.
