Dura-Trel Kingston Pergola

when I first took this out of the boxes I thought, oh my goodness how on earth am I going to set this up....it did take a bit of doing...you'll need someone to help you put all the legs on as one person can't do that alone...also, it comes with steel inserts for the legs to be secured but I didn't put those in when I first set it up. I wanted to see how it would line up first so I put the thing together then inserted the steel inserts one at a time in the back only. Since this is sitting on an already paved patio, I took out one each of the pavers and found each leg fit perfectly in the spot that the pavers left. I dug down the eight inches, inserted the steel inserts, put a bit of cement on the top and placed the legs, one at a time on them.....not easy but it sure made them straight. For the front end, I really didn't want to take out more pavers ( not to mention that they just were not budging) so I just bought a couple of "L" brackets, big ones and screwed them into the x where the pavers came together then filled it with cement and secured each to the legs of the pergola. I imagine this would work for all legs but we get some crazy winds (today's almost took a tree out) but the pergola DID NOT MOVE AN INCH! WOO HOO! Now, I'm a 65 year old female who loves to do DIY so this was quite a project for me but it only took me a few hours to put it together then to dig the holes, etc. Definitely worth it and is quite beautiful in the end!

I installed this on my deck. I purchased separate mounts to secure it. Looks great.Only complaint would be that the caps for the end of the wide boards do not fit well. There are only two sides not four like the caps that fit on the small boards.I feel as if it should sustain any high winds, though have not experienced that yet.

Missing screws and anchors, had to go out and spend $$$ to be able to set up.Love the look of it but unhappy that it came without hardware to put it together. Company needs to take better steps to ensure its complete before shipping.

After looking at countless numbers of pergolas I decided to give this one a try. Shipping was quick, Instructions were clear, and with a little assistance from a friend, I had this up in about an hour. The sturdiness of the unit all depends on how you attach it to the ground. Mine was free floating inside of a deck. With a few angle braces on each leg, it became more than sturdy enough to convince me that no high wind would effect it. Overall I'm quite happy with the product for ease of erection, quality of the product, and most of all, the price.

I bought this pergola thinking it would be great over our hot tub. The materials are a cheap plastic and the measurements are not accurate. Requested a refund and the company wants me to pay shipping for return. Return costs as much as the cheap pergola does so now I am out a lot of money and have this crap sitting in boxes in my garage. Very disappointed in the product and company!

Looks very nice! Easy assembly, just needed a 2nd person to help when it was time to stand it up and connect all 4 posts. Some of the screw holes didn't quite match up on the top long skinny pieces but they were easy enough to drill new holes through. We had the pergola attached to concrete footers in the ground, but the steel supports look easy enough to use. Makes some rubbing noises when the wind blows strongly, but it wasn't going anywhere even before we secured it to the ground.

A little difficult to assemble but once together it is Okay. A little flimsey to work with but once it is put into the ground it seems to hold up against anything

Love it!! Exactly what I was looking for and at a reasonable price. It took my friend a couple of hours to assemble. It is pretty sturdy, but on a recent windy day it swayed a little so I will try to add something else to anchor it down.
