After seeing all the negative reviews all over Amazon, on items that claimed to be pure nickel that later turned out to be nickel plated steel, I'm happy to report that this one is genuine pure nickel. Did the salt water test for 24 hours. The one on the left is the nickel. Right side is a test peice cut off an old battery (plated steel) Another thing to note... Though nickel is not a ferrous metal, is is however ferro-magnetic. Meaning that it will be attracted to a magnet. Some reviews I saw claimed strips were not pure nickel as they would stick to a magnet therefore must have steel in them. Generally true for other metals that aren't ferrous. Like aluminum or copper. But because nickel is ferro-magnetic, magnets will still stuck to it. Cheers

The description says "SHONAN Pure Nickel Strip 99.6% Nickel" but it is stips covered by Nikel thin layer. I have tested it in salt water (scratched before doing that) - there is a rust on it. I have also did electrolysis method, which shows that nickel is a thin layer. Do not buy it

Not pure nickel. Tested in salt water - rusted.
