Festool 203343 Protection Pad 2-Pieces, Steel Grey, Medium, 150 mm Diameter

Ideal , good product

Good quality sanding pad protector (as you would expect). Highly recommend. One thing to note is that there were two options to choose from 1. the "Medium" and 2. "Medium Pack of 2". The description for the Medium did say 2 discs, but the description said 1 item - a bit confusing. I thought I was going to get 1 disc (which I also thought would be expensive, but I've tried a couple of cheap ones and they don't have the correct dust hole alignment), however I actually got two discs in the one packet. I assume the "1 item" is one packet of two discs. So, I also assume that the "pack of 2" option would deliver two packets of two discs... hope that helps if you think it's very expensive, you might actually get more than you think.

I was a bit confused by advert saying one pack, 2 discs but then shows option for 2 discs. Spoke to Festool UK who correctly advised.. each pack contains TWO discs, the 2 pack option is twice this.. so 4 discs. They allow the Festool pad to connect to compatible discs.. my suggestion for a good finish is a hard pad (blue), one of these discs which increase life on pad by about 5 to 10 times.. and pads are expensive! then use a quality sanding disc like the 3M or Festool. These have more air flow which increases dust collection and keeps pad and sander cooler, thus stopping the hooks on pad melting and loosing grip . This is in my mind an essential bit of kit

It almost certainly will protect the pad but does make my Festool sander vibrate more, not yet tried it but may be better suited with mesh type discs.
