My parents live near the beach in So. California and still insist on using a TV antenna vs. cable TV despite the bad reception along the coast, so when their quite large metal antenna stopped working well in the Spring of 2024, my husband and I installed an Antennas Direct ClearStream 4V Indoor Outdoor TV Antenna, UHF VHF, Multi-Directional, 70+ Mile Range, 4K 8K UHD, NEXTGEN TV on their roof because I installed one in our attic as our secondary TV input (we have cable TV as our primary) and it works great. The Clearstream has worked well but still wasn't getting all the channels they want so we were often needing to go there to reposition/rotate the antenna manually. Still, they weren't getting all 'their' channels. So, in April 2025, after researching antenna rotators, I decided on RCA VH226E (aka VH226F) rotator and ordered it here on Amazon. Unfortunately, due to apparent mass buying and hoarding by other retailers, Amazon was never able to get any in stock and cancelled my order, so I was forced to pay more from one of 'those' vendors. The antenna rotator requires 20-gauge 3 conductor wire, but doesn't come with any so I ordered it here on Amazon. We weren't sure how much we were going to need so I bought the 200ft. option. From what I can tell, we only used about 70-75 feet so we've got a lot left. This 20 Gauge 3 Conductor Electrical Wire 200FT, UL 2464 20 AWG 3 Wire works great! The color of each wire within the black jacket was slightly different, but it didn't matter, they just needed to be different from each other, so if your application needs for instance, yellow, blue and green, the yellow is fine, but the blue and green would be black and red or red and black respectively.

I used this to extend some led lights and worked well.

I picked up the 20AWG 3, 4 and 5 conductor wire from this vendor. They are essentially the same, except for the number of conductors of course. The sheath is thick and pliable. I was able to easily strip it off with Klein Tool 11061 wire strippers (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CXKOEQ6). I found the insulation on the individual conductors to be a bit more stiff than other wire I’ve used recently. It stripped off easily using the 20AWG slot on my Klein Tools 11063W wire strippers. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BC39YFQ). Using the sharp blade from my flush cutters, I was able to scrape away the tin and verify that the wire strands are indeed copper. All in all, I am pleased with the wire and I’m looking forward to using it on my DIY project.
