Powerhouse Cleanup for Every Mess!
This DEWALT wet/dry vac is an absolute beast in the best way. With a 5.5 HP motor and 12-gallon capacity, it tackles everything from sawdust to spilled water without breaking a sweat. I use it in my workshop and garage, and it’s handled heavy-duty messes like a pro. The 27-foot reach (thanks to the long cord and hose) means I don’t have to keep unplugging it, and the built-in blower port is perfect for clearing out leaves and debris. I also love the sturdy casters and strong handles—they make it super easy to move around. Setup was simple, and the accessory bag keeps everything organized. If you need a reliable, high-powered vacuum that’s built for serious jobs, this one’s a no-brainer. DEWALT nailed it with this design!

The best shop vac out there. Honest review please read. Highly recommend!! Must buy!!
Honest review here: I’m very impressed with this 12 gallon DeWalt shop vac. It is very well made unlike many other shop vac’s out there. I owned both a craftsman and Stealth. Both of those don’t compare with this one. I returned the Stealth last week and gave my Craftsman away. The craftsman is definitely not made well anymore! At least DeWalt kept the same quality for 50 years unlike the other brands! This unit is very nice. It is medium to heavy at 25 lbs but with the wheels on it, it is very lite to roll around. The build quality is very good. The hose is very big and strong at 7 feet long. The HEPA filter is very large with good quality. The wheels are very sturdy and strong. They swivel 360 degrees without any issues at all even with 12 gallons of water in it. The wheels are made very well and will not break or wear out. The attachments are also made very well. They fit perfectly on the hose and extension tubes. What I like the most about this shop vac is that when you attach the extension tubes and attachment you hear no air sounds leaking in. All other shop vac’s have an air leaking problem. The motor is exactly 5.5 HP Peak. Others list their’s at 5.5 HP peak but in fact they are not that high. You are lucky to get 4.5 HP from them. The motor is not loud at all. I added a diffuser to my shop vac which cuts down on the noise and air exhaust air flow. This really helps. See pictures! The attachment bag/basket is awesome!! It holds everything plus the 2 extra attachments that I bought in addition to what comes with this shop vac. The hose strap is simply the best. I secure the hose tightly to the machine. The power cord wrap around the handle was genius. Everything about this shop vac is A+++++++ in my book. I highly recommend this to anyone! Must buy!!! I got a great deal on it as Amazon priced this as 30 day lowest price. They beat all the big box stores pricing. I hope my review helps your decision in what shop vac to buy. I bought this unit based on the high reviews so reviews do help in more ways than one.

A Very Good Vac With An Annoying Catch
We tuck pointed our rubble stone basement so I purchased this for a major cleanup of that job. Overall performance of the "head" and canister was plenty for picking up concrete rubble, stone chips and clingy concrete dust. I also bought the HEPA filters and bags sold separately for this unit. I'd rate filtration above average with these additions and would recommend anybody considering this vacuum also consider purchasing the upgraded filters which are very reasonably priced considering their HEPA rating. This high capacity, powerful and reasonably quiet vacuum has all the performance you need for major cleanups but there is a catch. The vac comes with a short 2.5" hose, two wand extensions, a floor sweep, a small detail brush, an attachment for wet vacuuming, several crevice tools and a muffler (which does work well). The hiccup in this package relates directly to the standard accessories although the muffler is an unexpected and welcomed plus. One doesn't expect superior attachments with most shop vacs but I was hoping for better with this upper midrange unit. The hose is quite short and extremely stiff and inflexible. This is typical of cheaper shop vacs but I really was surprised by just how difficult the accessory tooling was to use.. No innovative design or quality of construction separates these cheap attachments from what you'd get on a vac costing half as much. The various attachments and wands are very difficult to separate after use and take some care in marrying together and increase time and energy spent in cleanup. Unhappily, they are both difficult to put together and mate while at the same time being extremely difficult to take apart or rotate during use making working with the various tool combinations very frustrating and tiring. What you have here is a relatively quiet, well made (in the modern plastic idiom) large capacity and powerful vacuum which must be downgraded by extremely cheap afterthought tools. Here's a quick list of please and minuses: Pros: *Powerful suction *Easy to roll around and follows you well as you move around the job site *Good filtration when used with with bag (three are supplied with the unit) and reasonably priced HEPA filter accessories. Th vac comes with a standard filter which I haven't used yet. The Hepa filters are purchased separately. *Relatively light weight *Quiet for a vac with this much power Cons: *Cheap but not cheerful accessory tools and hose that make working harder *Relatively expensive compared to competition. If DeWalt paid a little more attention (or if you can find higher quality aftermarket accessories) this vac would be considerably more pleasant to use. As it stands, it does get the job done and provides a quieter, "well filtered" experience. Don't expect Festool levels of quiet but it is quieter than average nd I think that's a major consideration. I'd rate this a star higher if the accessories were easier to use and in fact I struggled with giving this a four star rating rather than three considering how mediocre these accessories are . The rest of the package is very good, if a biot more expensive than other is liar units. However, the accessory tooling simply isn't up to DeWalts usualstandards. A better hose, hose connections and improved tool package would see this powerhouse of a ship vac through to a five star rating.

This thing sucks...only time that is a good thing.
So, I have only just set it up and used it once, but I have some opinions already. I am tired of buying a new upright vacuum every few year that sucks up socks and clogs, etc. So I decided to get this as my home vacuum. I am going to get a long extension hose so I can reach my whole house. So far, I used the provided brush attachment on my carpet and it worked quite well. Not as well as an upright with a powered brush roll, but mostly adequate. Everything else it does FAR better then an upright, other then it's maneuverability, hence the 20 foot extension hose I will get. This thing is loud, but quieter then others of similar size. It sucks incredibly well, even sucked up the dead leaves in my entryway. This thing will take on anything. I will edit if anything changes. My only complaint, it on the power cord, at the plug end, there is a little half circle thing meant to grab onto the other end of the cord. Almost all vacuums have this. But on this machine the plug ends half circle is too small to be of use.

IT SUCKS........BUT IT IS PRETTY GOOD AT IT!
THIS IS A NO BRAINER VACUUM. FOR THIS PRICE YOU CANT GET ANY BETTER. A MUST HAVE AROUND THE HOME AND WORKSHOP ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE DEWARD MITER SAWS ETC THAT USES A VACUUM.

Dewalt 16 gal vac
I had meant to buy the StealthSonic version of this vacuum but messed up the order. As it turns out, this new vacuum is so much quieter than my 30-year old Craftsman that I am happy with my purchase. I saved a bit of money with that mistake, so it was a better value for the money. The suction power was everything that I expected, and the weight is about the same as my old one. My only complaint is that the hose is difficult to work with. As others have mentioned, the hose is stiff. BUT, if the manufacturer would have put a swivel on BOTH ends of the hose, the problem would be eliminated. How hard could that be? I do like the power switch and the way the filter is locked in place.
