I'm a sucker for Bay Rum, and Colonel Conk's does not disappoint - it has a really intense Bay Rum smell. It also has a very quick-developing lather, which is medium thick and very smooth to shave with.

Absolutely one of the best things I have bought. I had just found out my regular distributor no longer made the shaving soap that I was using for the past 5 years. I was not happy. I went online and looked at the top 10 soaps used for shaving and this one was in the right price range and had great reviews and was in the top 10. Now that I have used it I know why. Glad I had to look. The fragrance is wonderful and very manly. It lathers up just like it says in all reviews. The lather lasts throughout the shave. Skin is so soft when finished. Amazing product and would recommend to anyone that is having questions about their current shave soap.

If you like the scent of bay rum, if you like the feel of hot, soapy caresses on your face in the morning, if you have a big mug, you will love this shaving soap. A cake lasts me about two months, so I buy a years supply at one shopping. That's the good.The seller, a dealer who sells through Amazon, charges shipping on each cake. That would be fine for one or two items, but shipping almost doubles the price, and they ship in a small USPS flat rate box, and don't prorate the shipping for a larger order. That's the bad.P.S. Other reviewers noted they had to modify the cake to fit their mug/bowl, me too. It's simple, I pop the cake out of its plastic clamshell and into my home turned spalted maple shaving bowl, 20 seconds in the microwave, voilà! Let it cool before using as most of it liquifies. You can microwave it in the clamshell, but be very careful pouring it into your mug, it is hot and waxy and will burn you.

The Conk is always a great soap! The only reason I give it 4 stars is because the scent is a little light for my taste but that is only a personal preference. The lather is easy to make and slick enough to get the job done. The puck also lasts a very long time.

This is the newer smaller formula, 3.15 size not 3.75 Oz. With the new formula the lather is thin and doesn't last they a shave. Barely any fragrance to the soap and you can't melt it into your shave mug as with the previous version. Will not use this anymore

It should be noted that at the time of my purchase (March 2023) what I received is not what was pictured. I’ve used Col Conk shave soap for a few years and went to replenish mine. It seems that they’ve completed changed the Ingredients. The puck is now a new shape, bay rum smells quite a bit different before but the part that is an issue for me is that it doesn’t seem to be glycerine soap anymore and is NOT meltable. That was the greatest thing about the col conk soaps in the past was that you took the puck, put it in your shave bowl/cup, placed in The microwave for 30 seconds and the soap would melt to a liquid. Then once cooled, harden back up like before. This shave puck does not melt and doesn’t appear to be a glycerine style soap so just know that buying it.

Excellent shaving cream, super long lasting, lathers great w/a good brush, even down to the bitter end. Like the large round soap, fits perfectly w/no play in the shaving cup! Scent is not overwhelming, doesn't overly dry out your face! If you want hot lather, just run your brush under hot water for about 30 seconds, brush the soap & voila, hot lather, just like the hot lather @ the barber shop! Champion!
