MMUSC CAC Smart Card Reader DOD Military USB Common Access, Compatible with Mac OS, Windows, Linux, Black

I purchased this card reader for the purpose of doing online ATM. I forgot my account information and couldn't access my bank's website or use their app to log in. Besides calling or visiting them in person, my bank offers the option of using my ATM card with a compatible card reader to acess the website, so that a customer does not need to be kept on hold for another frustrating 2 hours. The little box the card reader comes in has a small CD (with the driver) and a brief one-page instruction. In spite of both of them being not quite useful, I had a successful experience with this product. It is plug-n-play, and is compatible with my MacBook Pro (macOS Catalina 10.15.7). The card reader now reads my bank ATM card (Visa) sucessfully. My experience tells me that, after you plug it into your computer (via an adaptor or not), you should restart the computer; otherwise, the reader may not be detected.

After the onset of COVID-19, it became crucial to login remotely from home. I work for the VA and it's been notoriously difficult to get the clearance and appropriate equipment setup to access the network remotely. Concurrent with some significant upgrades and changes on their end, I needed a CAC card reader as they weren't allowing many ID/Password access accounts. This reader has worked like a charm on both my WinPC and MAC. The only difficulties I've had were totally on the other end, the CAC reader has performed as expected and the price was quite reasonable since in my case it gave me the ability to access the work network completely from home.

I went back home and needed to access my work email, but forgot my normal CAC reader. I ordered this from Amazon and received it the next day. Plugged it into my computer, stuck in my CAC card as was logging into my web mail in under a minute. Worked like a champ, no issues. Note: I have only used for Govt CAC card, but worked like a champ. It is small, USB powered and sleek looking.

I bought this card reader to use with my bank card. The card reader needed installation and it worked afterwards. It was able to read my bank card chip.

I bought this card reader because it said it was compatible with the newest version of Mac OS software released, which is what my system is running. HOWEVER, when I installed the reader software it stated it was not compatible. I tried to download a compatible version of the reader’s software, one does not exist. This reader IS NOT compatible with Mac OS Big Sur.

Does exactly what I need it to do. no issues Update: I have now bought 2 of these. Both stopped working after 6 months. I moved to an other option.

I am glad that I purchased this it worked great with little to no effort on my part. I was able to setup and log into my military site and access my information. using the software that came with it was easy as well. very good purchase very stable product, I would recommend it to anyone that needs to access government sites when they are away from their government computers

I recently had my previous CAC reader go down, which left me in a pinch to say the least. It was less than a year old, so I looked into other readers and found this one. I have had 3 readers thus far, and of the 3, this one so far seems the better of them. The first lasted less than a year, the second I had trouble getting to read my card, but this one, I dropped my card straight in and it took right off, no trouble at all.
