Okuma Avenger Baitfeeder Spinning Reel in Clampack (Medium)

SEE UPDATE BELOWI have wanted a baitfeeder reel for years and finally decided to grab one. I plan on using it for striper fishing on the east coast, as well as river fishing here in Michigan. After researching the various baitfeeder reels on the market, I decided this okuma had the best features for the $$. I considered the Shimano reels, as I am a huger shimano fan, but decided any additional benefit did not justify the increased difference in price.I have used it on several trips so far and found it to be just what I was looking for. The secondary (baitfeeder) drag works as advertised and the fish will run with the bait until I drop the lever to engage the primary drag and set the hook. I have not had a single fish drop the bait early. The only issue I have had is that a couple of times I have had to lift and release the secondary drag lever a couple of times to get the secondary drive to engage. More of a simple inconvenience than a real problem for me. Very happy with this purchase I and recommend this to anyone who wants performance and doesn't want to spend an excessive amount of money for similar performance.**** TWO MONTH UPDATE ****I have owned this for less than two months and the bail has already broken. The plastic around the bail has chipped away and the bail simply fell out while fighting a fairly large fish. I am quite disappointed that an otherwise nice reel would fail so easily. What I thought was a nice deal for the $ has proven that sometimes you really do get what you pay for :(

I Love these reels! I have always been a "Shimano snob", but these have changed me! I love the "Bait Feeder" capabilty, as well as smooth reliable performance! I have caught Sharks, Huge Redfish, Drum, Cats, Gar, ...etc ! I'm not one to sit-n-hold a pole, so being able to set it, and then work the shore/bank with a lure, or set a couple of "bait-lines" up, and relax is awesome! They never feel the pole, but you know when they're running with the bait!! AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!!!

This is a replacement reel for one I accidentally dropped into the St. Johns River. It was cheaper to buy a new one than to have the old one serviced professionally. That kind of close work is beyond my old eyes. I have a couple of these reels in different sizes. They are the best baitfeeder reels for the money there is. I use the fishing live bait in the St. Johns River fishing for a variety of fish.

Very smooth action. Used for carp fishing.

Got the ABF65 it's massive wish I went with the 55 but it holds its own and does its job. Got it for 52 dollars so it was a steal can't complain.

this reel is everything is advertised to be, handles smooth, and reels great when fighting large game fish

Excellent reel. Seperate drag adjustment for spool and for Baitfeeder function is best at this value. Changing all my spinning reel over to Okuma Avenger Baitfeeders.

I own about 10 of these reels.they are a great reel for the money.You have to be careful to watch the number and letter coding or you will get a reel that is too small or is a saltwater reel. Hey they make great gifts!
