It's not a complicated item obviously- so for me it comes down to: Are the bags easy to pull of the roll? Do they fit as expected? Do the bags not leak during the typical few days while in the kitchen compost bin? Yes, to all three aspects, and thus it keeps the bin from smelling and getting covered in rotting material at the bottom. And obviously: they need to be biodegradable, which they are. I will mention that when one was left a few days too long in the bin (5 days or more) it started leaking a bit into the bin. Still, a very quick cleanup, and to me that's sign that the bags break down as they are supposed to.

The bags are similar to the recyclable produce bags the store have and serve the purpose, but these 1.3 gal. bags are not tall enough for the 1.3 gal. countertop container I have. I works when fist installed, but after the container gets about half full the bag top sinks below the top of the container. Buy the bags for the 1.6-gallon container unless you don't mind the back sinking inside it.

They don't tear at all, I question if they're really compostable.
