great quality knife sturdy and easy to handle

The knife is a standard German-style chef knife (fairly wide blade, curved edge, works well with a rocking motion). The steel is fairly hard and as a result, brittle. With the use of a whetstone every now and then, it would be easy to maintain the sharpness of the knife. It takes some effort to sharpen as its made of relatively hard steel, but it should hold its edge for longer. The knife is fairly heavy as well, with a solid build. It should handle some degree of rough use as it has a thick spine. The knife balances at the bolster, meaning it would balance perfectly in the standard grip, with the index and thumb at the bolster. The product came with chipped edges in the plastic package. It still works well enough, but you may want to observe the knife carefully for micro-corrosion on the edge. EDIT: I've since bought the paring knife as well. And it shares the same build quality as the Chefs knife. Would recommend this range. After two years and occasional sharpening on the whetstone - it's still fantastic.

I love this knife for how well balanced it is. It’s weight distribution is even and you can feel it as you chop through vegetables or whatever it is that you wish to chop. It takes about a couple of days to get used to it’s feel in your hand and to it’s weight but once you get used to it, it’s a delight to work with it. It’s very sharp and fairly heavy, so be careful as an accidental fall from kitchen counter on your foot can cause a deep cut. A careless brush against its edge will definitely lead to a cut. The point I am trying to stress on is that this knife is very sharp and it would be wise to know what you are buying. Pro tip: wash and dry immediately after use as this prevents rusting and the knife remains sharp for a long time. Use a “knife steel” to sharpen the edge every month or 15 days depending on your usage.

very good sturdy construction... good steel... better than solimo pass the paper cutting test.. forged 8 inch chef knife with bolster price around Rs.969 good weight balance the knife is manufactured in India.. sharp cuts tomato. Also hard veg like cabbage carrot potato. using a honing rod before use so staying sharp... will update after month usage.. (solimo chef knife is very hard to sharp it doesn't hold edge for long)

One of best chef knife that i got from the amazon I looked for an week in the local market and crockery stores but didn’t find the quality but Amazon finished my research And i got this awesome knife It’s sharp , and heavy which is best for handling It has attached blade with wooden grip which was my choice

Image is totally misleading. Its not a serrated knife. I was looking for a good serrated knife but had to return it. Knife is very well built though. Amazon as usual provided smooth returns..
