Excellent product!
New, in a sealed & wrapped package. This is an excellent product! It works better than all the other materials the occupational therapist has used to protect the joint and heal my mallet finger. The plastic splints for nighttime only use were not as effective at maintaining the exact position (without any slight flexion) like this casting material can, so the doctor wants to start another six-week protocol. She’s hoping to improve that last 15% droop.

Really Helped Stroke Spasticity in the Hand
My husband suffered a stroke this past year and developed spasticity in his left hand. His ring and little fingers would not stretch out and would remain in a claw-like posture and wouldn't move. I did some research regarding this problem and discovered Orficast tape on a popular video site. You know the one. While I don't endorse giving out medical advice, nor am I a certified health care provider or P.T., I can say in my husband's circumstance, his fingers work much better since applying this casting material. It's pretty easy to do if you have a helper like me doing it. We left the cast on for approximately 10 days with his fingers in as straight a position as possible. When we cut the cast free after that time, his fingers were pretty straight - not perfect - and after some exercise, he was able to open and close all the fingers on his hand. He can now squeeze a tennis ball with his entire hand, completely hold on to his walker handle and now can use that hand to grasp and open bottles. It has helped him tremendously and we're thinking of taking it the next step which is to cast all four fingers to straighten them out even more. Like I said, I am not a doctor or a therapist, just a caring wife who wishes to help. If you think you may want to try this therapy on your own, I suggest you consult your own physician and at the very least, do some research on the internet for more information pertaining to your own unique circumstance.

Very thankful for this product. Wish I had found sooner
You can easily make several finger casts out of this. It's even been useful for creative types of repairs. My doctor saw this and was amazed it was available on Amazon. I wish I'd found this stuff sooner it's the best

Professional quality - amazing!
My PT was impressed I found this online, I couldn't get in to get a brace for an injury for weeks and I kept making it worse. I found this, made my own cast (you can even reheat it and hone your design) and it worked amazingly well! It hardens like a cast, but since there's no cotton inside you can get it wet. It takes a while to dry, but it still helped me a ton (I just made two braces so I could wash and air dry them in turns).

Very cute
Cute and bright. Hard to keep closed, rip easily. Might do better with double sided tape.

Really cool stuff!!
I'm an Occupational Therapist. This was the first time I had seen this and used it. I ordered it to make a splint/guard for my husband's finger to help protect him from hitting/bumping it after he had to have it surgically pinned for 6 weeks. This can be heated with a heat gun, molded, and cooled. It can be re-heated to make adjustments. You do need to make sure layers melt together and cool completely for curing/hardening to become fully effective. More layers makes it thicker and sturdier; however, you do NOT need more the 1-2 overlapping layers to make it harden and sturdy...just heat, hold/mild, and cool so that the fibers within the product melt together.

Perfect for a fractured finger!
This worked perfect for a fractured pinky finger! I had been using a splint for about a week and it was uncomfortable and annoying. So glad I opted to try this !

So needed to cast a finger to hold it straight after surgery. Hot water from the tap was not working, close to boiling did the trick to start it to stick together. Careful not to burn skin so when touchable after dipping it in a cup of boiled water, then on a towl to dry some it wraped up and stuck together and hold it to harden like a molded cast. Wet and in the microwave worked as well but test 15 seconds, 30 burnt the skin so use caution. tweezers or that sort of thing. Wish it would stay pliable longer cooler. have to be careful.
