Jane Eyre (Penguin Clothbound Classics) Review: Read The Classics! - This is a beautiful version of the classic by Charlotte Bronte. Yes, it's a long read; there wasn't much to do for fun in the UK in 1825. It is a story of dealing with obstacles, finding independence, and not being formed by customs. It was a Christmas gift for our grand-daughter (14) and her grandmother's favorite story. No review has yet been provided by the reader. Review: One of My Favorite Books of My Life - Read this novel when I was a teenager c. 1965 and loved it. Haven't re-read it in 60 years, until now. (In another format, although this one looks excellent.) C S Lewis said something to the effect that returning to a favorite book is like returning to an old friend. This book, written by one of the marvelous Bronte sisters, is one of my favorites of all time and is just delightful. I have always loved the depiction of the mind of Jane Eyre as she has her experiences of life.

Jane Eyre (hardcover) is a must read! For anyone who thinks they don't have a voice.
Hardcover copy of Jane Eyre. I loved reading Jane Eyre! This book talks about family abuse, rigid gender roles, mental health, women's rights, and more. Jane Eyre is the heroine in the book and I love her voice! There's a scene where she gives a sassy but smart answer to a rigid, vain man who questions her morals when she's a young girl.

Tag on the back
I love books. I love classics. Jane Eyre is a favorite and to have it bound beautifully is a delight. I have to echo many of the reviews I've read below. Why did you put an ugly price tag on the back? When it's removed, it leaves an ugly mark and removes some of the color on the beautiful fabric. It's just ridiculous that after all of the reviews, you can't affix the tag inside or leave it off entirely! I would love to give this book and the other fabric bound classics as a gift and would many times over, but it looks like I bought it damaged. This is an easy fix. Please consider changing this!

Ugh Jane, Mr. Rochester!
The cover is fantastic! I had no idea what this book was about. For years I had wanted to read it, but thought that it might be too hard for me to read, that I wouldn't understand it. Could I have been more wrong? Probably, but I was immediately drawn in to this book. Of course, I had known Charlotte Bronte's name and that of her sisters as well, but while reading 'Jane Eyre' I was highly intrigued by Charlotte Bronte's life. How sad I found it to be! To lose all of your family and then to die, once finally married, and taking with you your unborn child! Ahh! This book is filled with so many great quotes, ideas, and thoughts. I loved it from the start. I love that Jane never wants, nor tries to be anything but herself. She could not allow herself to be, in the depths of her soul made to be as others were. I will not write about the plot, for I feel that you should discover it all on your own, as I did. Enjoy!

Great quality!
I bought this book as a gift for my girlfriend and she loved it! I also bought her Wurhering Heights from this same series. The detail on the cover is beautiful and really well-made. They include a little ribbon bookmark that is a fantastic touch and really helps give these books an old-timey feeling! All-in-all, if you're a fan of any of the books in this series, I would highly recommend them for you or a loved one as they do make great gifts.
