Works great, but don't get this if all you want is ravioli!
Such a great machine!!! My hunky and I got this so that we could make spinach whole wheat pasta into ravioli since we both want to incorporate more whole wheat and we've been curious about the possibility of making our own pastas. First of all, the cleaning process was super easy and took us maybe 5 minutes to roll paper towels through the rollers that we needed before we were absolutely sure that all of the excess oil and metal were removed, so that's no big deal. Then it took us maybe 30 minutes to get really good with rolling the pasta to the right thickness without breaking it, so while there was a learning curve it actually turned out to be super easy to use and understand! The ravioli attachment also worked brilliantly, although I'd say that we're probably never going to use it again because 1) It didn't quite lock into place properly on the machine itself and 2) the ravioli it makes were so small that you could barely taste and enjoy the filling! We're probably just going to make them by hand next time and use one of the pasta crimp roller wheel things instead. (We got the Norpro 112 Grip-EZ pastry and Ravioli Wheel and can already confirm it works great!) Also, the only downside of the machine itself is more a downside of our kitchen. Because the machine's handle can only be placed on one certain side, there's only one spot in our whole kitchen counter that can accommodate it and allow for us to roll out the dough without hitting a literal wall. I wish that the handle could be put into either side, and I also kind of wish that it had come with 2 c-clamps instead of just one but... Other than that, honestly, I'm so pleased with how well this inexpensive machine performed that I'm not actually bothered by this. But I would say that if you're getting this specifically for the ravioli attachment, which I did, just skip it and form the ravioli by hand. You can get an equivalent machine for about $25 here on Amazon that doesn't have the attachment instead.

Easy Setup!
My husband loves to make everything homemade and mentioned about having a pasta maker. After some digging I thought this looked like a perfect match. It’s perfect! We make a batch of pasta every week! Super easy to use and didn’t take much setup at all. The only con I would say is that sometimes the handle falls off if you twist it the wrong way, but we’ve never had any issues. It is a little bit harder to clean, but that is to be expected with all the grooves. Overall, love this product and use it weekly!

Good pasta
I just recently purchased this pasta maker. It is very sturdy and comes with a c-clamp to attach it to a counter top or sturdy fixture. It would be nice if the C-clamp would go a little bigger for thicker tables or countertops. The machine works very well, once you figure out how to use it and what the attachments all do. There are very little instructions with it and there are no labels or directions telling you what each attachment is for. I had a fun time figuring all the different attachments out with my 2 year old grandson, however, I do believe it would be prudent of the company selling this, to upgrade their directions for use and give a little bit more information on what each part does and its use. Overall, I give this 4 stars our of 5 based on my comments above.

Junk -- buy the Imperia pasta machine instead
This is NOT the same as the Villaware IMPERIA pasta machine! This is a cheap immitation that just doesn't work. I bought this pasta machine because I dropped my Imperia one, and rather than just replace it with the same item, this one came with an additional pasta-cutting attachment as well as the ravioli maker, for only $9 more. The pasta machine itself is less sturdy than the original Imperia -- it's lighter and more fragile, plus the width dial is more difficult to use. I was able to make pasta sheets okay with it, but when I went to use the spaghetti cutter, it didn't work AT ALL! It simply did not grab the dough strip. I could force it in there and crank, but then it only pulled the center of it, and the outside edges would get all caught up and gummed up, and never go through the cutter. I tried all the pasta cutter attachments, and they all did the same thing. On my Imperia, the cutters would grab the strip as soon as I started cranking, and cut very clean, perfect pasta strands. With this one, I could not get a single decent cut strand of pasta. I boxed it up and sent it back. I also tried the ravioli maker. It's pretty tricky to work, although it is possible to get nicely shaped raviolis out of it. The problem is, they're too small, and have hardly any filling in them. I would suggest using the Villaware 10-square Ravioli Maker instead -- it's just a metal tray-like gadget that doesn't attach to the machine. I was very disappointed in this product, as it is very poor quality, and truly doesn't work. I don't see how they can sell it -- what good is a pasta maker if you can't actually cut the strips into strands? I am a HUGE fan of my Villaware Imperia pasta maker, and use it all the time. But this one is junk.

If you go easy on the machine and your pasta has a good consistency, the machine is very easy to use, and never seems to force any parts of it, but you have to be very patient. Excellent for trying for the first time, before moving to a much expensive machine. Be aware that: - You need a very good pasta consistency, and keep it under a humid towel while working your noodles with the machine - Go as slow as you can, so the paste won't break the machine - Place a rubber mat under the machine before attaching it to a counter or a table, it will stay on place right as it should and the machine will never move or tilt
