The nice thing about spinach is that it doesn't have a very strong flavor. Oh, and that it's really healthy for you. I have been trying to eat healthier, and smoothies (or "squishies" as we call them at my house) seem like a good option. But veggie smoothies taste really nasty. This is where the genius of spinach comes in. If you put enough strawberries and bananas in your smoothie, you can add quite a bit of spinach and it will still taste good. It will look horrible, but the taste is still great! And while fresh spinach is the best, I can't be counted on to use all the spinach in the bag before it rots. So instead of picking through slimy leaves, hoping to come across one that's not gross, we've turned to dried spinach. All the vitamin-y goodness of the fresh stuff with a much longer shelf life. This won't make a good spinach salad though.

Yes, Harmony House has done it again. The dried spinach flakes are perfectly fresh tasting and pleasantly satisfying. Even though I do a lot of dehydrating myself, I have never had much success with spinach (probably because I don't grow it myself and have to rely on store bought). This product was a revelation and proves beyond a doubt that sometimes great things come in small packages. This dried spinach is now part of the emergency supplies and so far I have used it in omelets, bread, dips, soup, mashes, quiche and as a sprinkle on crackers with cream cheese. All have proved great and have really gained that rich spinach taste. Will highly recommend this product to those who like spinach or those who just want to find out what Popeye raves about.

I have battery operated pepper and salt mills. I use whole nlack pepper, because of the flavor it is superior to buying already ground pepper. This pepper is a great value for the money, and has excellent taste

My biggest complaint about backpacking food is how sluggish it leaves you after a few days. Most easily packable foods tend to be starchy and heavy (pasta, rice, beans, oatmeal etc.). I've found that adding a bit of dried greens to the pot makes a huge difference in my energy and brightens the flavor of the meal. On my last 2 week trip, I carried a half-filled quart size Ziploc of this dried spinach and added it to about 2/3 or my dinners and still had plenty in the bag when I returned home. The volume of the spinach increases a lot when rehydrated. And, contrary to instructions, the spinach doesn't really need 10-15 of rehydration time- I found it rehydrated almost immediately in hot water and really did taste and look like finely chopped cooked spinach. I've been using the product at home too, especially in soups. I like to make bigger pots of soup to last throughout the week and find that fresh greens added while cooking because unpalatably mushy and bland with repeated re heating. But I can just add a bit of this product to a bowl of reheated soup instead, with much better results.

Spinach anytime, so convenient. Fresh spinach spoils so fast. This spinach is perfect for when you need just a little, or a lot, but don't want to bother with the grocery store.

Actually I have to say both their spinach and cabbage are great. There was actually a mix-up and I first received their cabbage by mistake. It was the first time I ordered this type of product so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I noticed some things seemed off, like it didn't seem to look as green and the package seemed heavier than I thought it would. The embarrassing/funny part is that it wasn't until I went to throw the box out that I noticed that on one side was a label that said "Cabbage" and noted it was 14 pounds. It just so happened that this was part of a big order with Amazon that had got all messed up so with sorting everything else out before I could get to call Harmony House (very long story short) they contacted me. They were absolutely great and said it was their error and they would send me the spinach at no expense, and I could keep the cabbage. I am very impressed with the quality of their products, their customer service, and their commitment to their customers. I highly recommend them and their products.

I got this in an effort to be able to add greens to my cooking without the problem of fresh going bad. This worked perfectly. It is beautifully dried, rich deep green color and good flavor. I can toss some in to soups, salads, smoothies or casseroles for extra nutrition. No more waste! I will be keeping this on my pantry shelf.

Easy to add to dishes and has a great flavor. Quality was good. I’ll be ordering more when this is gone….
