Testing Book: 3rd Edition (Saxon Math 8/7 Homeschool) Review: Great for homeschooling - I use these for my children to homeschool. These are perfect for child led learning. In other words I don’t help them. They have to figure it out themselves. Each lesson includes questions from previous lessons with reference numbers so the child can turn back to the relevant lesson if they are stuck. My 10 year old is using this book now and does one lesson daily. If they struggle you can cut it down to half or even a third. I would add my children also do Kumon so they find most of this easy. At least for now. Review: Great - This is just what we needed for homeschooling our kid in Math. I find Saxon Math to be good and I really like the mental math at the beginning of every lesson.

SAXON reviews concepts OFTEN and is great for homeschooling
Saxon Spirals learning (reviewing concepts over and over). I used this with a 7th grader who is on-level in math. I have read that if a 7th grader completes Saxon 8/7, they will be ready for Saxon Algebra 1 in 8th grade. I purchased 3 Saxon Math 8/7 books for this school year: Student Text Solutions Manual (be sure and get THIS so you can quickly check your student's work) Tests and Worksheets GREAT GREAT math program for homeschooling. Highly recommend

Best Math Curriculum!
I've been homeschooling my kids for 15 years and this is hands-down the best math curriculum I've ever used. I only wish I'd started with Saxon from the beginning! It creates such a strong, solid foundation in math. Highly rec.

Excellent program
Saxon is an excellent way to teach your child math even if your not so great at it yourself, specailly the step by step explainations. As far as pricing...yes this can be quit expensive, do your homework and look around!! I got the text book and solutions manual on ebay (brand new) for $25.00 and then ordered this tests and worksheets through amazon for $22.00. So i dont think $47.00 for all three was bad at all!!!

Useful
I have used Saxon math for all my homeschooled children from K-8th because it is a steady incremental approach to learning math. This has all the tests needed for this level, plus copyable "work pages" they can use for each test. Very helpful. Test are given every 5 lessons (except for the first test which comes after lesson 10).

Love Saxon!
I've been homeschooling for three years, and Saxon is the best for my son. The problem set is a bit much, so we go through the lesson and then do the practice set only. I like how the tests review back through the lessons you've studied. If your child doesn't retain the information as well, the problem set is a good daily review.

Amazing math program. Solid, tried & true incremental math. You can’t go wrong. Do the online test to find your child’s level. Purchase the DIVE accompanying DVD or online program if you aren’t feeling your skills are adequate to teach. Amazing
