We had bought 2 Simolio headphones for the video system in our Sienna. After we sold the Sienna, we saved the headphones and wondered if we could reuse them at home. With this IR transmitter and an additional optical splitter, we can watch TV at home using the IR headphones. It works great. The sound is clear, and we can each adjust our own volume levels to our preference. When the grandkids are visiting, they can watch TV with the headphones and not bother the rest of us in the room. Very happy with this purchase.

This Simolio digital transmitter with a 4 pack of the Simolio DVD wireless headphones is perfect for our living room which is open to our dining room. We are retired and often have other couples over. The ladies love to play cards or board games and whoop it up with cheers and laughter. Us guys would rather watch a sports game or a good "macho" movie. In fact I bought TWO of the 4 packs of headphones and we can use as many as we need. I must point out that while this works fantastic for us being right in front of the TV, the signal is not intended to reach the headphones if we step away from the immediate area. But we don't care. The audio is flawless and clear and all I am doing is running a mini-stereo cable from the headphone jack on the back of the TV. From the TV to the transmitter I could use an optical cable instead of the mini-stereo cable. But, it is perfectly clear just the way it is. A couple of us are even a bit hard of hearing. With the TV speakers turned all the way down, we can each adjust our own headphone as we like. The quality of all the items is very good and (even though I don't need them) cables are included for everything. The transmitter comes with a power transformer (even a separate one for a car cigarette lighter). The only thing you will need to add is 2 AAA batteries for each headphone. I am really happy with these items and would gladly recommend the digital transmitter and headphones.

Setup was easy. Sound quality is good. I'll check back in 12 months to change it to 5 stars if I have had no problems.

Life changing! Works sooo well in the car!

We got this because my kids love listening to audiobooks and colouring. It worked amazingly well for a week or two, and then steadily began to degrade. Now it barely transmits any sound, and what comes through is quite distorted. The idea is amazing, but hardware needs to be sturdier.

Original review July 2022: Purchased 3 transmitters, 6 headphones. Great when working and good range. 1 started to degrade a few days ago, both channels have static and only clear in direct (head hight) line of sight. Disappointing as is under a year old. All I all love the setup normally, headphones need stretching out for adults heads but then excellent. Updated: 1st August 2022: Contacted by Simolio regarding issues stated above, after a brief back and forth with them to evaluate the problem (2 messages), understanding warranty is 6 months and I was considerably out of that, they sent a open/brown-box replacement. All cables etc included transmitter works perfectly - better than the original at day 1, which leads be to believe it was faulty to begin with. (I had assumed the hiss and occasional crackle-pop was an environmental interference as that specific room had a lot or windows). All great, will continue to expand the system.

I bought the SIMOLIO IR dual channels IR transmitter along with a pair of SIMOLIO IR headphones in order to watch TV during the night without waking up our kids in the noisy scenes. This device works randomly for some time and then makes a strong noise and stops working. When switching it off and then on, it works again, but only during a few minutes, and the situation repeats indefinitely, making these devices unusable. Beyond this, this system has low audio quality, there is a rainy sound in the background which is always present, and intensifies at every step you move away from the transmitter (we sat at barely 40cm from the transmitter, and when located 4 meters away, in line of sight of the transmitter, the noise becomes comparable to the actual audio signal) which is not what I expected from the digital technology advertised by the vendor. The headphones themselves are comfortable and have a cable input, and they actually sound very well when wired to a proper audio input, however I would not buy these headphones for that use. I am sorry that the original purpose of this system was defeated by a low quality control, and it is too bad that I spent over 100USD on these items, including transport and taxes (I had them delivered overseas); the cost and effort of returning them is not really compensated by the possible refund if I returned them.

Surprisingly well made product. The only IR transmitter with optical audio input. I needed a digital connection to connect to my system but all other transmitters have analog inputs and this is the only one with both analog and digital inputs. Works out of the box and connected with my older IR headphones. Sleek size. Great transmission and seemed to work even standing behind it; probably the signal bounces off the walls.
