Referee Uniform - Short Sleeve Soccer Jersey by Total Soccer Factory

Everyone reading this knows that the official USSF supplier overcharges for referee attire, which is why you're here. Let me tell you, in comparison to my OSI yellow jersey, this green jersey is FAR better. The colors are vibrant, the side panels breathe well, and the pockets/velcro are all well sewn, and the zipper is great. The only thing "missing" is a couple of choice logos, which are totally unnecessary in all but the highest level games out there. My official yellow jersey has a floppy collar, no zipper, and the pockets aren't velcro tabbed. This green jersey is simply better in every objective aspect. As far as fit goes, I am 6'1" and 172lbs with a 42" chest. I ordered an Adult Medium (AM) and it fits perfect, although more "form fitting" than my much-too-large OSI jersey that billows in the wind. If you're more apt to go for trim/athletic cuts in clothing, this is a good option.

If you don't need the USSF and OSI (Official Sports Int'l) logo on your shirt for the extra $25, then buy this jersey! It's well-made and the color hue is virtually identical to the overpriced OSI version. Plus OSI and US Soccer will change the design in 5 years anyway (collusion) because they have to soak soccer officials once again - at least you won't be contributing to their greedy whims and you'll save yourself some serious money. Another advantage to Total Soccer Factory's jerseys is that they are a bit more roomy than the OSI jersey (1" =/-). I have purchased both size L (short sleeve) and XL (long sleeve) and both are less of a slim-fit than the OSI. For example, I only wear a black cotton (wicking) t-shirt under the short sleeve thus reducing the need for extra space in the shirt; 44"-46" is perfect for that. When I wear the long sleeve XL in cooler weather, I need at least the t-shirt and often a long sleeve Under Armour-type garment; when it's raining, I need the Under Armour plus a plastic poncho underneath. The roominess of the XL accommodates all that. I am 5'8"/192 lbs. The jersey washes up nicely and seems to be holding its dye well. It comes with an extra (rough side) velcro disc for badges also. I've officiated club, HS, college soccer for three decades and have seen numerous iterations of soccer official wear, beginning with all black with white collars. I'm tired of funding OSI, so this is a fantastic, economical alternative! BUY WITH CONFIDENCE, my fellow soccer officials and good luck out there on the pitch! A good product for a $25 discount off the Official Sports price. There are some minor differences that will reveal to an eagle-eyed observer that it's a counterfeit, but nothing major. These differences include: - the biggest difference for me is that the fabric is noticeably heavier and less breathable. The "breathable" strips down the side look mostly correct in design on the exterior, but the material is clearly different from the official version and much less breathable. This is true for the jersey as a whole as well. You can't see much of a difference visually in the material, but it definitely feels heavier and less soft when you hold it or put it on. - a SLIGHTLY different shade of color (I got the black version and it's ever-so-slightly lighter than the official version, but you can only really tell if you hold them up close right next to each other, and even then it's tough to tell). - the zipper is more stiff and the zipper hook is slightly bigger - There is no US Soccer Referee logo on the sleeve - There is no Official Sports logo on the right chest pocket. Those are the only differences I noticed, and they are all very slight differences. A skilled observer will be able to tell this jersey is a counterfeit, but it is certainly very close to the real thing. Unless you are doing very important tournaments or games, I would say the slight differences in the counterfeit aren't enough to justify spending twice the price on the real thing from Official Sports.

Looks like my more expensive "official" jerseys without the sleeve patch. I don't notice a difference in the material as compared to the economy version of the jerseys. I wash it in cold water, inside out, and then have dried it on low heat with no issues, although if I have time, I let it air dry. The shirt doesn't smell, even after several games in a day. Wears well and is tailored to reduce the material at the waist. Overall, a great value.

For all the grassroots referees out there, these are perfect unless you have aspirations to move to the regional level, then you need to spend the money on the official version. For the rest of us, why spend more if you don't have to. These uniforms are great. I love the new style which is lightweight and very comfortable. I'm 5'6" at around 160 lbs and the medium is a great fit. It isn't skin tight but it isn't overflowing either. Written by Holly's husband Mike.
