Easy to put together and install.

Exactly the KIT I needed! I was gifted a used Palram greenhouse from a coworker whose daughter didn’t want it anymore, the catch was it had sustained wind damage during a storm and was missing ALL parts of the roof window vent. I had contacted PolyTex who handles parts for the greenhouses and was given quite the outrageous quote for replacement parts so I figured I’d try ordering this kit to see if I got most of what I needed (I lucked out and got a discounted like-new Amazon return! Thank you whoever returned it!) and it provided me the vast majority of parts I needed!!! The kit comes with the following part numbers: 8710 (2) 4008 (5) screws 7009 (3) PVC pieces 3017 (2) gaskets 989 (1) 990 (1) 991 (1) 992 (2) 586 (2) ribbed window panels 411 (8) screws 412 (9) nuts 8797 (1) 8798 (1) 8801 (1) 8799 (1) 8800 (1) 466 (2) flanged nut 461 (2) 410 (1) screw The handle mechanism is like the single black plastic one shown in only 1 product image. It is not the dark gray style. The only cons I noticed was… 1) that this kit does not include part numbers 9953 (2) and 4044 (2) which look like a wing nut and closure lock for the window/roof vent that are part of the instructions for the specific Palram Hybrid greenhouse that I have. I thought it would be included but it was not. This mechanism may not be universal to their other greenhouses so that may be why it was not included. 2) this kit included 2 roof window panels part #586 that are ribbed. The kit instructions clearly say this kit either comes with (2) 7010 clear panels OR (2) 586 ribbed panels on the contents page of instructions. For me, the ribbed panels were what I needed but for others that need part 7010 it seems it could be hit or miss and you may or may not be getting what you need.

This was a direct fit replacement for a part that was damaged by wind. The issue is that the plastic hardware (nuts?) that are supposed to attach the hinged locking arm are to small and dont fit in the trough snugly. This causes them to fall out if even a small gust of wind shakes the trapdoor or greenhouse.

A little hard to retrofit

Very easy to assemble AFTER chilling in the refrigerator. Automatically opens my greenhouse windows for ventilation. Great on sunny but chilly days. I don’t have to run out to manually open the windows.

Wondered why it's so expensive for a hinge? There's an additional surprise in the package. Included are two plastic replacements (new ribbed design) for the Palram greenhouse roof --never disclosed in the description. In the ad, it shows a hinge a center pull design. The directions are for a side pull hinge which would not be stable in high winds. Note: does not match the existing clear panels of last years Palram greenhouse. I only wanted a simple hinge to replace the Palram automatic one that started leaking oil after six months. Plus the hinge comes in multiple tiny pieces including weather stripping. (Why?) Nobody wanted to put it together. I don't need two new panels nor do I want to store them. The extra items explains the inflated price. Nice little bait and switch. If you're thrilled with the extra bonus items, great but I'm returning everything.
