Dry, but good meal replacement.
TL;DR: They're all dry so make sure to drink something with them, personally recommend the "Crunch" flavors (Super Cookie Crunch, Mint Super Cookie Crunch, Salted Caramel Brownie Crunch), seems like a decent meal replacement, good protein and carbs for your workout. Right, so I took notes over the week I was eating these to keep track of my thoughts and experience with these bars. Overall they're dry so definitely drink something with them. My sugar tolerance is pretty low so they were almost unpleasantly sweet for my tastes, leaving me with that subtle sugary burn in the back of my mouth, and the other flavors seemed subtle as a result. Of course ymmv on the flavors, so take my opinions on that with a grain of salt. As far as meal replacements go, I believe they did the job. They kept me full between meals during my ususal workout routines, but on more intense days these bars felt more like snacks and left my stomach feeling like an all-consuming black hole. I'll chalk it up to user error in case I just wasn't eating enough on those days. Now for the individual bars themselves: -Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough had a chewy texture that I liked, though my notes say "jaw workout". It has that generic protein bar flavor and I didn't notice much, if any, chocolate flavor. Definitely had some vanilla and maybe a hint of something like cinnamon. Not as dry as the other bars. -Peanut Butter Pretzel was "honey forward" according to my notes. There are actual pieces of pretzel on it, and there was some caramel flavor. Despite there being some peanut butter coating on it, I apparently didn't notice the flavor. This one, along with Crispy Apple Pie and Vanilla Caramel Churro have the same core texture: a sort of dense crispiness that, in my opinion, sounds better in text than it feels in the mouth. Personally I didn't like the way they scraped my gums. -Crispy Apple Pie tastes like an apple pie, so the flavor is good but it loses points for scratching the inside of my mouth. -Vanilla Caramel Churro: My notes on this one seem confused, so I guess I couldn't make sense of the flavor at first. Mostly tastes like sugar, apparently, with a subtle cinnamon flavor buried beneath it. Makes sense, now that I'm thinking about it, and now I have the ungodly temptation to gently heat one of these up to see if that'll change anything. -Granola Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip isn't as sweet as the last three, and has that generic protein bar flavor with maybe a hint of vanilla. "Has a flavor", according to my notes, but there's nothing on whether it tastes like peanut butter or chocolate. I'm assuming I couldn't taste either flavor or it was super subtle. -Granola Chocolate Chip is apparently a generic chocolate chip protein bar and somehow more sugary than the other granola bar in the trial pack. -Salted Caramel Brownie Crunch looks like it might be a softer bar, or at least that's what I thought when looking at the packaging. It's more like a very thick wafer in terms of texture instead of the cake-like thing I expected. The caramel did come through all the sugar in this one, but the overall flavor was like a sugary chocolate bar. Definitely in my top three. -Mint Super Cookie Crunch: my personal favorite because it tastes like a less intense peppermint patty. If you like mint chip ice cream, you'll probably like this one. Didn't taste as sugary either. Has that same wafer-like texture as Salted Caramel Brownie Crunch and Super Cookie Crunch. -Super Cookie Crunch: just had this one on the day of writing this review. There's not much to say about it that hasn't been said about the last two. It's chocolatey, has that wafer-like texture, dry like every bar in the pack (except Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough), and tastes like chocolate flavored sugar. Still in my top three because I love chocolate. In conclusion, I'm glad I started with the trial pack because now I know what to expect and what flavors I prefer. Feels a tad expensive for my liking, but I'm also cost conscious so that's influencing my opinion on the price. I'm not sure I'll use these around my workouts, but will probably instead keep them around as meal replacements when I can't find the motivation to get out of bed and cook something.

High Protein and Great Taste, but Use It as a Meal Not a Snack
Man these things are delicious! But man that's a lot of sugar. This is a solid meal replacement bar with genuinely high protein that actually keeps you full when you need something fast and convenient, and the Super Cookie Crunch flavor tastes better than most protein bars in this category, but buyers should go in with eyes open because it is calorie dense and contains a lot of added sugar for a single bar, so it works best as a true meal replacement and not a casual snack, especially if weight loss or blood sugar control is a goal, and while the vitamin and protein profile is strong, it has low fiber.

Favorite protein Bar
These are my absolute favorite protein bar, and I have tried *MANY* these are expensive but they're worth it with the whopping amount of protein and the fact that they're actually tasty and easy to eat. It can serve as a meal replacement when my appetite is bad from my IBS so I don't starve, and its not a chore to choke down. They masked the funky whey taste and the texture isn't unpleasant. No artificial sweetener so no weird flavors from that. I don't have a lot of money but I buy these or their Apple Pie flavor (tied for favorite, I buy whichever is cheaper month to month) every month, three boxes of them enough for one a day for almost the whole month. They keep me going. Good stufff.

One of My Favorite Protein Bars from MET-Rx
The MET-Rx Big 100 Granola Protein Bar in Chocolate Chip is fantastic! It’s definitely one of the best from MET-Rx (only the Caramel Churro beats it, to be honest). Still, it’s always one of my go-to choices for a protein bar. Delicious flavor, great texture, and packed with protein to keep me full and energized. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a healthy, good tasty, variety and satisfying protein snack.

Good way to figure out which Met-Rx flavors you like
First of all, I am not a protein bar expert, and I'm not in the market for a purely protein bar. I ate a Cliff bar once, and was not favorably impressed. However, an installer at our house was eating these while working over lunch and recommended them. I was looking for something I could eat at my desk when my head is deep in work and I don't have time for a real lunch break. Something which would keep the hunger pangs from distracting me. These definitely fit the bill. These Met-Rx bars are all on the dry side, some more dry than others, so keep some black coffee or water nearby to wash them down. They are all pretty sweet, hence the black coffee recommendation, if you like coffee. Black or green tea should work as well. So, here is my man-off-the-street impression of the different flavors in the pack. On a scale from 1 (almost inedible) to 10 (very tasty). Mint Super Cookie Crunch - 10 - One inch thick Girl Scout 'Thin Mint' cookie. Hard and chewy, not crunchy. Salted Caramel Brownie Crunch - 10 - Crunchy-ish, not too dry brownie. Chocolate and caramel. Not salty. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough - 9 - Reasonably good cookie dough flavor. Chewy, not dry texture. Granola Chocolate Chip - 8 - Dry, chewy, not too sweet, oatmeal-ish(?) nutty flavor. Not bad. Super Cookie Crunch - 7 - Dry chocolate brownie, a little nutty-ish (protein powder?) flavor. A little chalky aftertaste. Granola Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip - 6 - Peanut buttery chocolate flavor. Somewhat chalky aftertaste. Peanut Butter Pretzel - 6 - Peanut-buttery trail mix flavor. Somewhat chalky aftertaste. Crispy Apple Pie - 4 - Apple/cinnamon flavors tasted artificial to me and a little funky. Vanilla Caramel Churro - 2 - Dry, grainy, with unidentifiable taste - no vanilla, no caramel. Everyone's taste is different, but hopefully this will be a little more data for those not adventurous enough to try Vanilla Caramel Churro for themselves. I will be ordering Mint Super Cookie Crunch, Salted Caramel Brownie Crunch, and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Those are all solid winners for me.

Very tasty!
I just love these. I typically like to take these with me when I’m running a race or going on a long run so I can have it as a post-run snack. It’s a super easy way to get protein and carbs back into my system after a long or high intensity activity. Personally, I find the balance of savory and sweet to be just right and definitely enjoy the taste as there is no strong protein aftertaste that lingers. I like the variety of flavors that are offered but the peanut butter pretzel one has to be my favorite by far

Overall, a great protein bar
My husband and I order these in bulk. They are a great replacement meal when we are on the go with 30 grams of protein and only 338 calories (if you ignore net carbs and calculate with accuracy, they are more than the 310 calories advertised). They are large for a protein bar, will satisfy hunger, are low in sugar, and we have never had a bad or malty batch come to us, even in the heat of summer. They are a little expensive, but worth it for us as we both aim for higher protein. The main “con” I would give it is that it does taste a little - off? Chemically? I think there is a sugar alternative in it, which is what I think I’m tasting. Typically I try to stay away from those, but it’s hard to find a bar that can leave me satisfied/not hungry, has the protein I want, and taste perfect. Overall, it’s a pretty good bar. PS Their cookies and cream bar is my favorite. It just has nearly 100 more calories for the same amount of protein.
