Is there padding and pocket for carrying laptop safely?

It's big enough for a laptop and there is padding. Although it will weigh it down quite a bit. My daughter took this to Italy for school and says it's big enough.

This will definitely fit a pair of shoes and an outfit if you aren't packing for cold climate. I love my bag and although I've only had it for a little while, so far so good.

I washed mine in the washing machine in cold water. If you were to do that, I’d only do it every once and awhile.
