I got this right before the wet season kicked in. Not only did it save my filter from rain and mud, but it also kept coolant out when a clamp failed!

Ease of installation.

I bought the cover to add protection to a K&N FIPK filter setup installed on a 2003 5.3 Silverado. The regular K&N filter has done a good job over the 14 years I have had it installed, but I have had multiple replacements of the MAF. I know how to avoid over-oiling the filter and do it right every time, but the filter is not designed to shed water droplets and I live in a rainy climate. This filter cover does not seem to restrict air flow appreciably and it does pre-filter dirt and seems to shed water droplets. I am hoping this cuts back on the MAF replacements although I know that the design of the MAF for this year range of chevy trucks is known for problems. For no more than the cover costs, it was worth a try - and it will reduce the number of filter cleanings I have to do.

Water droplets beaded off pre filter cover, and best part of it no worries about debris getting caught between filter crevices. Money well worth spent! After you take off your OEM filter box, you probably will discover rust on the mounting plate in you live in the north east especially. That's winter road salt and moisture that gets thrown up under there and goes to work on that mounting plate. Having this dry cover imho is a must! You don't want that crap getting on your filter, let alone filter getting wet. Protect your investment and buy this cover, you won't regret it!

This is exactly what I was looking for,

The product itself was good... well what was left at least. The spray can of oil had released about half of its contents in the package. When I received it, the package was beaten up and oily. I had just enough to clean and oil the filter once. From what everyone has told me, this exact kit should had lasted 2-3 washes!

Product was as described, looks good and fits good, would give a 5 star but I just started using it and dont know how it performs yet.
