Is there a little triangle at the bottom of the container indicating #2 or #5 plastic? I think only #2 and #5 are both food safe and safe for reuse.

The recycling symbol #7 indicates the material does not fall into the other categories #1-#6, and as such, is not necessarily a material that is accepted by most curbside recycling programs. Some polycarbonate water bottles are marketed as ‘non-leaching’ for minimizing plastic taste or odor, however there is still a possibility that trace amounts of BPA will migrate from these containers, particularly if used to heat liquids.A new generation of compostable plastics, made from bio-based polymers like corn starch, is being developed to replace polycarbonates. These are also included in category #7, which can be confusing to the consumer. These compostable plastics have the initials “PLA” on the bottom near the recycling symbol. Some may also say “Compostable.”#7 plastics are not for reuse, unless they have the PLA compostable coding. When possible it is best to avoid #7 plastics, especially for children’s food. The silicone seal keeps falling off of the lid. Is there something I'm doing wrong or a way to fix this?

My relative, who works in manufacturing of similar items, has told me that the airtight silicone seals are meant to stay in place. Apparently, higher temperatures can affect the effectiveness, and the silicone ring may start falling out of place.
