Easy cleaning and super compact
This really is a great kit. It fits in my range bag easily and has everything i need for a proper cleaning. It's so compact Yet so effective. My only complaint is the instructions don't really tell you what each tool is for. You kind of have to watch YouTube vids to figure it out. I still have items in it I haven't used and I'm not sure how to.The BONE tool is pretty cool. It makes it easy to remove carbon from the BCG. There are a couple of pieces that makes cleaning the BCG really easy. From removing the firing pin couple to the bolt extractor. You screw them into the brassI bought the Otis brush and some pipe cleaners to complement this kit. I however am not a fan of the Otis cleaning solution as I found hoppe's and CLP to be more effective. I switched that with a tiny bottle of slip2000 and use that to lube stuff as needed. Also: super important. The patches that come with the kit are 2 inch patches. You can buy the 3 inch patches but Be SUPER CAREFUL how you pinch the patch. Try not to pinch to much fabric or the patch WILL get stuck in the rifle. Look inside your barrel and get an idea of the size. The kit comes with a guide for the 2 inch patch but it's super different for a 3 inch patch. It's a good idea to get a rifle rod to complement the kit. Believe me. Getting a patch stuck is almost impossible to remove without having a rod. I've gotten 3 patches stuck. The first time I took the rifle to a gun smith and in two seconds he popped it out with a rod. The 2nd time I stepped on the cable and pulled the upper with all my might. The 3rd time I used a rod and tapped it out. I've since ran about 65 patches (200+ swipes) and haven't had one stick. I make sure to always to tug on the patch to make sure it doesn't slip off; and that im using a patch that won't fall apart.Overall tho I'm happy with this kit. It's small compact design let's me take it everywhere and it has everything i need to properly clean my rifles

Absolutely the best AR cleaning kit I've found
Absolutely the best AR cleaning kit I've found. Even including a star chamber cleaning tool and the unique BONE tool, this kit has almost everything necessary to clean an AR.Pros: Bone tool is great and makes this kit's price a great value. Chamber cleaning tool works well, and shouldn't go unused. Has all the other stuff you'll need. They include long and short cables, so if you've brought along a pistol too, this kit should still get your handguns up and running, too. The compact size is great if you're limited on travel space or weight. As usual, Otis products are gentle on firearms but tough on fouling, and a great addition to your gear. It's adaptability makes it easy to use for other rifles or pistols, too; just add the right sized brushes.Cons: No fault of Otis, but if this thing had Q tips, it would truly have everything needed, so I added those myself. The biggest downside to the Otis system is that you won't have a cleaning rod on hand to knock out stuck cases unless you bring one just for that or have another. On mine, the CLP tube leaked and got cleaner/lubricant over everything. While It only took awhile to clean, I just don't trust most factory containers to be safe in a range bag unsecured as much any more. All in all, great product! I'm sure mine will last for many years, and I know I've converted others to their legendary breach-to-muzzle cleaning system. If you run an AR but haven't already assembled a cleaning kit from scratch, you need this kit. Highly recommended.

Compact Kit, Extensive Capabilities
This AR cleaning kit really does it all. My first experience with a similar kit was with my unit. Compared to what we've previously been issued, the Otis kits offer a VAST improvement over the old olive drab Vietnam era cleaning kit for M16 and M4 style weapons. I purchased this kit to carry on my person to be consistently one of the first individuals done with weapons cleaning because let's be honest... who wants to waste time cleaning their rifle with cotton swabs? This kit is the ultimate throwdown in M4 and AR style weapons. The BONE tool gets some of the harder to clean areas on the bolt carrier assembly and firing pin - which is a definite plus. The brass cleaning implements are definitely durable and do good work.My only concern is with the brass extension rods. When you connect them and perform any activity that requires torque, they WILL be stuck together and need to be taken apart either with clamps or two gerbers. For the compactness of this kit and the envy I drew from my peers (and superiors), it was well worth the hassle.
