A great way to repair expensive socks.
I found this relatively easy to use. I did go on YouTube and look up some tutorials before I started and that really helped. I have repaired socks, the old-fashioned way with only a darning needle and a wooden egg, and I definitely find this way so much better. It still may be a bit slow for some people, but the results are worth it. I know I’ll use this again and again. I found it fun to use and I listen to podcasts while using the loom.

Cheap but functional
I was worried due to the negative reviews. Yes, the edges are sharp. Yes, it doesn't feel particularly sturdy or well-made. But! It gets the job done, I've repaired about five socks so far and no rubber bands have snapped, the wooden piece isn't splintery, so probably just inconsistencies with production on this one. I wish the wooden part was curved, but all in all, it gets the job done. You will definitely need to watch a video - the instructions it comes with are really hard to follow and visualize.

Straight up unusable garbage, with misleading photos.
This review is for the 21 hook version, though I think they're all made from the same sharp, flimsy metal. The photos in the listing where the hooks are actually contoured toward the ends, and the metal is not as shiny---those are NOT the product you're buying. Even though it's literally pictured with the actual crap product. I really should have noticed before buying, but maybe this will help someone else not make the same mistake. The actual product is thin metal with sharp edges that will immediately snap every rubber band included, regardless of how much you hold you breath and gently ease it into place. SNAP. The edges are sharp enough to cut me, too, which they did when I used a piece of twine in place of the rubber band. Sigh. Still--I wanted to actually try it before throwing it dramatically from the top of an abandoned train trestle at midnight. That was when I realized that the hooks are plain wire, sharp and rough at the ends, and with no way to flip them back and forth easily. They get tangled around each other, they rip the embroidery thread instead of hooking it into place, and they cause you to question all your life choices.Buy this is you really hate someone but need to get them a gift for some reason.

You Get What You Pay For
This product has a few issues. For one, the metal is so sharp and rough, it immediately broke the rubber bands that came with it. I decided to switch them out for "ouchless" hair ties that are covered with thread. The "mushroom", or wooden disk arrived rough and splintery on the edges. I bought the 14 hook version and didn't have issues with the hooks as purchasers of the 21-hook version have described. The instructions are ridiculously confusing and poorly written. Otherwise, I used it to repair a hole in expensive socks after watching youtube videos of similar products. There are nice versions of this type of loom available if you do your research, but they can be costly.
