Boots are pretty stiff and uncomfortable. My heels hurt and go numb, more so with my right foot for some reason. I changed out the inserts which helped somewhat but not enough to want to keep wearing them. I tried breaking them in but it seemed as if though they got worst with more use. I have never had this kind of problem with any other boots. After extending wear of these boots (12 hour shifts), my right heel now is painful to extend even when I’m not wearing the boots. I do would not recommend.

These boots were not what I was expecting. I returned them, they were not as wide as I was needing them to be.

Very nice well build boots sadly it is bulky in the ankle area making it a bit heavy,It run narrow for sure! It might take a bit time to break those in.I would have kept them but since I noticed it was hurting my left big toe I decided to retun them

These boots are a great deal for extra wide footed folks! And they broke in well. Very comfortable and durable!

Impressed with these boots. They are easily the best for the under 120 price range. True to size, great ankle mobility and absorption. The leather & quality control is of higher caliber than that of the gx-8. Those run long and narrow. These are an athletic hot weather but designed for indoor, pavement, and asphalt. Great job on these, Bates.As a veteran paratrooper I am incredibly particular about boots and so many fall short in more than one area. These outperform most boots over twice their price range. Do be mindful, they make a side zip option and these are not that. They do not have lace locks; if you get excess heel slip throughout the day, be sure to lock lace below the ankle. (lace adjacently on top of standard lacing, should look like a tight figure 8.)

Ordered the extra wide...definitely not extra wide...even though the tag says so. And the heel is tight also, but tolerable. Very stiff boot.
