The noose on the 3 ft. pole is 9" in diameter and will most likely be to small for your pig. I would recommend the 4 ft. Std. Ketch-All Pole for your needs. The noose on the 4 ft. Ketch-All Pole is 11" in diameter will work on your animal.

Q: will this work for snakes?

Would use a hook made for snake handling rather than this catch pole for snakes. The wire could damage the snake's skin.
