Q: I am trying to figure out how much I need for an upcoming trip. Approximately how many full body applications can I expect to get from one 3 oz tube?

Not sure about full body application, but my wife and I were snorkeling for 5 days, and one tube was sufficient for our legs (we wore rash guard shirts and did not need sunscreen for chest and back). BTW, this is a great product, very effective. Tom

Q: How much of a white film does it leave?

It does leave one looking pale, but you can apply it lightly enough such that it works and you do not look like a vampire.

Q: Does this contain aluminum?

The short answer is Yes. The only active ingredient is Titanium Dioxide (non-nano), however among the inactive ingredients are Magnesium Aluminum Silicate and Alumina. You might also be interested that the product has a fairly creamy texture and does not feel too greasy once rubbed in. It does not smell as nice as some standard products but it is not bad; there is only a light scent a bit like ivory soap to my nose. By contrast, some of the other eco-friendly sunscreens were more pasty and did not smell very attractive to me. That being said, because the active ingredient is titanium dioxide, it does leave a slightly pale tone to the skin although nothing like the old zinc oxide on the nose.
